Understanding Hunting Seasons and Tags

Tips-and-Tricks
Robyn is a self taught hunter and cofounder of modern-hunters.com. You can get in touch with her on Facebook or Twitter.

If you’ve been following Modern Hunters on Facebook or Twitter, you are likely aware that I punched my first deer tag on Saturday during the last weekend of rifle season. To any hunter, that sentence right there makes perfect sense. But relaying the same news to some of my non-hunter friends produced some looks of confusion and a wave of curious question-asking. What is a tag? How many do you get? What do you mean by rifle season? Why are there so many regulations? It’s easy to forget just how much jargon there is in the hunting community...

Christmas Coundown #4: Raised on the Water

Guest Post

In the spirit  of the holidays, we’re counting down our top four guest posts until Christmas!  These posts were the most viewed and shared this year and totally worth another look.  In fourth place we have Christina Arguelles’s post – enjoy! And congrats Christina!!

As a Florida girl I was raised on the water. My dad had my brother, sister and I on the boat every weekend. We would tube, knee board, and swim. I remember always being fearful of alligator. Happy Thanksgiving!

We hope you’re having a great Thanksgiving and gearing up for a full meal with your family today (anyone trying the Roasted Pheasant recipe from yesterday?).

We have so much to be thankful for this year! It hasn’t even been a full year since we started Camo Is the New Black and we’ve had more than 15,000 website views. We’ve been able to share so many inspiring stories about sportswomen and we are thrilled that there’s been so much interest in reading and sharing them.

Last week, we put up a petition to unite hunters and show support for Eva Shockey – we are overwhelmed by your response! There are almost 200 signatures and you didn’t stop there – CITNB’s Facebook page saw big jumps and we’re almost at 1,000 fans.

So basically, you guys are the best...
