Catchy title, right?

I found this article in Women’s Adventure Magazine under the same title. Neither of the CITNB founders have had kids yet, but I can safely say we are both the type of women who hear “you can’t” and don’t have time to respond because we’re already doing. So with curiosity, I read the article with tips such as Don’t say:

  • Sell you [equipment] now because you’re never going to see it again!
  • You look like you’re going to pop!
  • I’ve lost my [activity] buddy!

These seemed like good examples but I have to imagine there are much more. So tell us. Adventuresome women, what should you not say to a pregnant lady?

The National Parks Conservation Association created a post on Buzzfeed that caught out attention: 17 Posters That Will Inspire You To See America. We were inspired.

Scroll through these posters and you see images that might remind you of your hometown, but you’ll see other images that make you realize how diverse a landscape there is in the United States.

Some of these posters, created in 1938 to 1941 for the National Park Service, are on display in the Department of the Interior through the Spring of 2015. If you’re in Washington, D.C., check it out here.

Hunters need to master the skill of tracking and calling the animal they are after if they want to have any chance with a crossbow. You can’t sit in a tree stand in the middle of an open field and hit something 250 yards away like you can with a rifle.

If you are going to teach your teenager how to hunt, crossbow hunting is the way to go. It teaches them everything they would want to know about hunting while having plenty of fun. This is a great way to teach your young one how to be patient and wait for the right time, a quality that is hard to teach.

When looking for the right youth crossbow, you will want to focus on a few differ...

“Wilderness Forever”

The National Museum of Natural History is celebrating 50 years of wilderness in a pretty awesome way: “Wilderness Forever” photography exhibit.

The Wilderness Act was signed into law in 1964 by President Lyndon B. Johnson. Today, more than 100 million acres are protected by the National Wilderness Preservation System to ensure these areas remain ecologically sound and environmentally pristine for future generations.

Photographs for the exhibit were selected from more than 5,000 public entries. There’s a Grand Prize and 12 winners in four categories: Most Inspirational Moment, People in Wilderness, Scenic Landscapes, and Wildlife. Each category has an Amateur, Pro, and Student winner.

The exhibit opened this month and will run through summer 2015 – so check it out if you’re in (or planni...
